Illuminati Symbol R20 Tattoo Removal
This customer approached The Avalon Laser & Beauty Clinic in Orpington to remove a black illuminati symbol tattoo (they thought it was cool when having it done but now finds it a bit embarrassing and wants it removed). During the free consultation we recognised that they would be an ideal candidate for the R20 process. This is an innovative approach to laser tattoo removal which allows our specialists to carry out up to four treatments of laser tattoo removal on the same day, with one session every 20 minutes. This method offers the same outcome as four sessions every six weeks, simply saving time. R20 laser tattoo removal can only be done on small black tattoos because lasering the same area four times can make the area more sensitive.

The tattoo removal video shows the R20 four session process.
Straight After 1 R20 Tattoo Removal Treatment
In the first session you can see the instant frosting on the skin appear as we trace over the tattoo with the laser. This is the oxidisation between the laser and the ink. We are only treating the inner triangle. The outer triangle and the leaves are to be treated at a later stage.
Straight After 2 R20 Tattoo Removal Treatments
The 20 minutes wait between treatments is important to allow the frosting to subside, preventing the next laser treatment from being blocked. We use a cool air blower to reduce irritation and heat in the skin. You can still see the frosting on the skin, just not as much. This is still a good reaction in session two.
Straight After 3 R20 Tattoo Removal Treatments
During the third session, you can see the skin looks red on the surface. A few little blisters occur at the bottom of the tattoo now. This is completely normal and is your body’s way of healing.
Straight After 4 R20 Tattoo Removal Treatments
After a further 20 minutes of cooling, the tattoo still looks red on the surface. It is not showing much frosting at this stage but you can hear the cracking noise which means the laser is still targeting the ink during the fourth session.
At the finish we cooled the skin and applied Lynton Light Soothe Serum to reduce irritation and create a faster healing time. The aftercare cream is so important when carrying out the R20 process. We then dressed the tattoo for protection during the journey home.
Once all treatments have been carried out, a period of 8 weeks should pass until the next R20 laser tattoo removal session to allow the body to remove the shattered ink particles. The overall number of sessions needed will vary from person to person, but with the R20 technique customers are able to remove the tattoo within a shorter overall time frame.
8 Weeks After R20
As you can see, the tattoo has faded a lot. The skin has healed really well specially from using the Lynton Light Sooth. It’s still not ready for a cover up but defiantly good progress so far.
After Cover Up
After the R20, this client was ready for his cover up. He had left it 14 weeks before having another tattoo over the top. It is recommended that you leave at least 8/10 weeks after laser before you have another tattoo over the top.
