Arm Traditional Tiger Tattoo Cover Up
This customer was referred to The Avalon Laser & Beauty Clinic in Orpington to remove a traditional tiger tattoo ready for a new cover up tattoo. We generally recommend between 1 and 4 laser tattoo removal sessions in order to lighten the area enough for the new cover up design, but in some cases more sessions may be needed e.g. portrait cover ups require the old tattoo to be lightened more.
Tattoo Removal Video (above)
The tattoo removal video shows the first laser tattoo removal session. There are a few different colours in this particular tattoo, and these colours are fairly easy to lighten. We use a different type of laser to remove colour because the laser for black ink won't pick the colour up.
Immediately After The First Treatment
When treating the tattoo you can see the instant frosting occurring on the skin. This is the oxidisation between the laser and the ink. Over time the whiteness disappears and the ink will come back to the surface. The ink particles then break down over the weeks ahead.
Eight Weeks After The First Treatment
This photo has been taken 8 weeks after the first tattoo removal session in Orpington. The tiger has faded really evenly. When we spoke to the client he said it took no more than 24 hours for the redness and swelling to go down. There were some small blisters on the coloured part which went down after a few days. The next treatment will be treated slightly deeper with the laser as we break down the layers of ink.
After 2 Treatments
You can see that this tattoo is fading really evenly. We only treated the black last time as the colour blistered a little. As he is having a cover up the colour can be covered easy so we felt that it wasn’t necessary to treat the colour this time. This would also speed up down time and recovery.
